Duckworth School DIY
AOBA’s Community Outreach Committee invites members to join colleagues for the first-ever “DIY Duckworth,” a construction project that follows discussions with leaders at the James E. Duckworth School for children with disabilities in Prince George’s County.
On Thursday, Oct. 19 from 3:00 to midnight and on Friday, Oct. 20 from 6:00am to 6:00pm at the Duckworth School, AOBA volunteers are invited to:
* renovate the Faculty Lounge - including a restroom
* demolish, rebuild and paint the school’s critical Independent Living Apartment -including a full kitchen.
Note: The school will be CLOSED on this day, so no background checks are required for members!
To volunteer, please register online AND type which shift (see below) you would like to volunteer for:
There are 4 shifts:
*Thursday, Oct. 19
3:00 to 8:00pm OR 8:00 to Midnight.
*Friday, Oct. 20
6:00am to Noon OR Noon to 6:00pm
PLEASE TYPE YOUR PREFERRED SHIFT IN THE NOTES SECTION OF REGISTRATION.
Volunteers are urged to bring tools with you (hammers, saws, screwdrivers, etc.)
If you can donate, we need kitchen appliances and utensils. Click here for a list of needed items.
