AOBA members across the region come together to show solidarity with the challenges that homeless youth face by donating to the Covenant House and/or sleeping outside for one night.

The Sleep Out mimics the hardship of youth experiencing homelessness. You are sleeping outside with fellow members, your sleeping bag, and a cardboard box for shelter. The evening begins at 8:00 pm when the group will meet for dinner, then go to the location, set up camp for the evening, and bundle up.

Our 2022 fundraising goal is to raise $20,000.

Registration for AOBA Sleep Out must be done through the Covenant House website. Click the button above to register.

The Community Service Committee, led by Carrie Ehart with Raine and Son Plumbing and Eric DeMunda with LAZ Parking, has supported the Covenant House of Greater Washington for three years. Throughout these three years, the Community Service  Committee has

  • Raised $30,000 for homeless youth
  • Stuffed bags including toiletries, toilet paper, and bedding for the shelter
  • Delivered food and clothes to the shelter
  • Deep cleaned their shelters when COVID-19 hit

The Covenant House of Greater Washington's mission is to empower, safeguard, and serve youth experiencing homelessness, disconnection, and exploitation in the Greater Washington region. The wrap-around supportive services provided to opportunity youth include housing, workforce readiness, job placement, and drop-in services.
