Sleep Out to Benefit Covenant House of Greater Washington
Registration coming soon
Event Details
Join us in our efforts to raise awareness and fundraise for youth experiencing homelessness in the Greater Washington region by donating and registering for AOBA's Sleep Out.
AOBA members across the region come together to show solidarity with the challenges that homeless youth face by donating to the Covenant House and/or sleeping outside for one night.
The Sleep Out mimics the hardship of youth experiencing homelessness. You are sleeping outside with fellow members, your sleeping bag, and a cardboard box for shelter. The evening begins at 8:00 pm where the group will meet for dinner, then go to the location, set up camp for the evening, and bundle up. Face coverings are required and there is PLENTY of space to social distance.
Our 2021 fundraising goal is to raise $25,000.
Please donate and register for the Sleep Out!
The Community Outreach Committee, led by Anthony Curtis with Classic Concierge and Carrie Ehart with Raine and Son Plumbing, has supported the Covenant House of Greater Washington for three years. Throughout these three years, the Community Outreach Committee has
- Raised $30,000 for homeless youth
- Stuffed bags that included necessities, such as toiletries, toilet paper, bedding for the shelter
- Delivered food and clothes to the shelter
- Deep cleaned their shelters when COVID-19 hit
The Covenant House of Greater Washington's mission is to empower, safeguard, and serve youth experiencing homelessness, disconnection, and exploitation in the Greater Washington region. The wrap-around supportive services provided to opportunity youth include housing, workforce readiness, job placement, and drop-in services.
