Professional Bio

In March of 2020, Eric J. Jones, MSF, joined AOBA as Vice President of Government Affairs, DC - Commercial. He is a seasoned political strategist with nearly two decades of experience.

Prior to joining AOBA, Mr. Jones served for twelve years as the Associate Director of Government Affairs for the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) of Metro Washington. He represented the chapter and its nearly 600 members before the executive and legislative branches of the DC Government as well community groups and civic associations, and was the organization’s representative in trade associations and on the board of several organizations.

Prior to his work with ABC of Metro Washington, Mr. Jones ran his own consulting firm specializing in small business, non-profit and political consulting. He is also a former Congressional Staffer, Consultant to the Democratic National Committee and At-Large DC City Council Candidate (2014). Mr. Jones continues to serve as a trainer/coach in the areas of campaign management and political strategy. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the DC Jobs Coalition and the Paul Laurence Dunbar Senior High School Industry Advisory Committee. An appointee to the DC Youth Apprenticeship Advisory Committee, Mr. Jones is a three-time Mayoral Appointee and a past member of the Board of the Premier Community Development Corporation, the DC Democratic State Committee and the DC Young Democrats.

A fourth generation Washingtonian, Mr. Jones holds a B.A. from Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia and a M.S. from the New England College of Business and Finance. He remains active in the Morehouse College Alumni Association Washington DC Chapter and the Washington (DC) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc.
