Organization Overview

Terin Hopkins, Field Service Coordinator at The National Fire Sprinkler Association has over 36 year of service in public safety. He started his career in 1982 as a Volunteer Firefighter/EMT. He then served an exemplary 25 years with the Prince George’s County Maryland Fire/EMS Department, retiring in 2009 as a Fire Lieutenant Paramedic. He then went to work for Maryland’s Howard County Department of Fire Rescue Services, Office of the Fire Marshal, as a Fire Inspector (AHJ) specializing in large scale fire protection systems in existing structures. In the spring of 2018, he accepted a position with the National Fire Sprinkler Association as the Mid-Atlantic Field Service Coordinator. His key role is working with the development of both ICC and NFPA codes. He also focuses on outreach and the coordination of training for the fire service on water base fire protection systems.
In his career, he has served on a multitude of committees and received recognition for outstanding performance in the enhancement of public safety.
